Welcome to this course on Yacht Surveying!
My name is Vladimir Kostov, and I have the pleasure of introducing you to the world of Yacht Surveying.
Let me introduce myself a little bit. I am a Master Mariner and a graduated Naval Architect from Varna, Bulgaria. I’m currently working for a marine surveying company and have had a passion for ships and boats ever since I was a child, which is why I chose a career in the maritime industry.
I studied at the Naval Academy. After graduating, I started my sea-going career on board various types of merchant ships, from bulk carriers to very large crude carriers, chemical tankers, and passenger ships.
After obtaining my ocean-going Master’s license, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to start working as a marine surveyor, and I have been doing this ever since.
Only after starting working as a marine surveyor did I find out how fascinating and diverse this job can be, and this is what made me take a further step forward, taking my second Master’s degree in Naval Architecture at the Technical University here in Varna.
Working around boats and ships is a really fascinating job for me. This experience is full of excitement and great opportunity, which I hope I will be able to pass on to you during this course.
