About the Course

Yacht Interior Design 1 is a foundational course and the first in a three-course series dedicated to interior yacht design.

It introduces students to the basics of designing yacht interiors, including space optimization, design principles, yacht-specific considerations, materials, furniture, and project presentation.

Students will explore yacht interior areas, spacing and layout, General Arrangement drawings, conventional and non-standard spaces, furniture types, materials and finishes, and basic representation methods such as sketches, floor plans, 2D and 3D methods, mood boards, and visualizations.

The course also introduces the role of the yacht interior designer and the interior design process, concluding with a final project in which students design or redesign a yacht interior area.
