Introduction to Yacht Exterior & Interior Design, taught by Andrew Trujillo, provides a broad and applied foundation in yacht exterior and interior design. The course explores yacht design history, typologies, design principles, materials, and the relationship between exterior form and interior spaces. Students are introduced to the design process, from the initial brief and concept development to layouts, structural considerations, CAD drawings, specifications, visualization, and final presentation. Four staged assignments provide practical experience in design research, materiality, CAD development, and portfolio preparation.

Yacht Interior Design 1, taught by Lisandro Torres, focuses specifically on the yacht interior design profession and its design processes. The course covers yacht interior areas, General Arrangement drawings, space planning, furniture and components, materials and finishes, technical considerations, and design representation. Students explore the different stages of an interior design project, from concept development through verification, production, delivery, and refit considerations. The course concludes with a final project in which students design or redesign a yacht interior area and develop a conceptual design presentation.

Together, these courses offer a learning path that connects the broader principles of yacht exterior and interior design with a more detailed exploration of yacht interior planning, development, and presentation.

Students may begin with Introduction to Yacht Exterior & Interior Design before continuing with Yacht Interior Design 1, although neither course is a prerequisite for the other.

Course Organization

Both courses are video-based and available on demand, allowing you to learn at your own pace.

Each course includes video lessons, quizzes, downloadable materials, and access to a private virtual classroom where you can interact with the instructor and fellow students.

Both courses offer subtitles in English, Spanish, French, and Italian.

The introductory course includes four assignments, while Yacht Interior Design 1 concludes with a final conceptual interior design project.

Both courses are suitable for beginners, and no previous experience in yacht exterior or interior design is required.

Upon completing all lessons, passing the quizzes, and receiving approval for the required assignments, students obtain the corresponding Course Certificate. Each course issues its own Certificate.
