New Bundle: Structural Design + Scantling with ISO

A bundle is a collection of courses we have wrapped up for you based on criteria such as complementarity, reinforcement, and/or enlargement of the subjects covered in each one.
Bundles enable the development of different learning paths by bringing together courses relevant to a specific area of knowledge. With bundles, we can guide you more effectively on your journey.
What is included in this bundle?
This bundle gives you access to the following courses:
- Structural Design & Scantling with ISO 12215
- Going Further with Structural Design & Scantling with ISO 12215
Structural Design & Scantling with ISO 12215 introduces the principles of structural design and the process of scantling determination, essential for ensuring strength, stability, and safety in vessel design. The course presents the ISO 12215 standard for small craft up to 24 meters and explains how it is used to compute design pressures and scantlings. Students will learn the fundamentals of strength of materials and the structure definition process, supported by practical examples on a 17-meter GPR sailboat. By the end, participants will be able to design boat structures and apply ISO 12215 to evaluate scantlings for panels, stiffeners, rudders, keels, and rigging.
Going Further with Structural Design & Scantling with ISO 12215 is a continuation of the first course, expanding its scope to metallic and wooden materials, motorboats, and multihulls. It builds on the fundamentals of structural design and scantling determination while providing a deeper look into beam and shell theories, metallic properties, and wood characteristics. Students will apply ISO 12215 to case studies, including metallic motorboats, multihulls, and wooden panels. By completing the course, participants will strengthen their understanding of the standard and broaden their ability to design and evaluate different types of craft.
