Just a normal guy, being fascinated with boats as early as a teenager, despite growing up on a small farm in Slovenia, far away from the sea.

Drawing and building scale model boats out of plywood and balsa got me enrolled into the wood technology disciplines, going from a simple joiner education all the way to the BSc degree, graduating in 2006.
Since then, I was occupied by the naval industry, 3D modeling, designing and engineering small crafts.

In 2009 I have established my own company, Nikl Design, and worked tightly with Marex Boats from Norway, creating 5 award winning boats together, starting with the Marex 320, Marex 375, Marex 310, Marex 360 & Marex 330.
All these boats are like my kids, sailing out to the world, making a lot of owners very happy.

These days I mostly work as a part time freelancer, providing occasional work in 3D modeling and boat engineering, including naval, designing planing hulls. The latest Marex 440 and 390 both run on my hull underbody.
